You now know the importance of ingesting a glass of water first thing in the morning. After fasting during your sleep, you helped your body to hydrate and regulate the ph balance in a few minutes. We will explore how to find balance in your mind, body, and spirit by focusing on the stillness of the mind. Unplugging and calming all the raging thoughts that go through the mind is one of the biggest challenges that people face today. Technology, education, work, and personal interactions are all assisting in constantly stimulating the mind. It is becoming increasingly difficult to take a breath and clear the mind of thoughts that are being recycled and unnecessary. Society expects us to constantly look outside ourselves for validation, acceptance, and love, and most people shy away from trying any method that can help raise awareness of how the mind works. There are many different approaches and techniques out there, but meditation has been around and recorded since 500 bce. Meditation comes from the latin word meditatum, which means "to contemplate." Meditation has made it possible for people to be more aware of how the brain works and how thoughts are related to feelings and behavior. Meditation has many health benefits that can be attributed to science, but I'll just mention a few.
1 - Reduce stress - One of the common reasons people try meditation is to reduce mental and physical stress.
2 - Control anxiety - People that start to reduce stress levels through meditation can automatically reduce anxiety levels.
3 - Self-awareness - Meditation can help people to know themselves better which can cultivate creative problem-solving skills.
4 - Strengthens Immune System - Meditation can reduce stress levels in the body resulting in less inflammation and lowers the risk of chronic pain and fatigue.
Meditation can bring so much joy to your life if you take a moment of the day to practice it. It can help to align your subconscious mind with your conscious mind, bringing about clarity of thought, expression, and a closer connection to universal awareness. A lot of people give up on meditation because they believe that they will never be able to calm the mind. Setting aside time for meditation begins the practice of accepting every thought that emerges without passing judgment. This method will slowly bring more stillness in the mind and help you to become more heart-centered. The connection of the mind to the heart is what creates a momentum of long-term healing.
